EPC band C stock check

For housing associations, councils and large landlords. Social homes must reach energy band C by 1 April 2030 and private lets by 1 October 2030, with spending capped at £10,000 a home. Upload your stock and see where it stands, home by home, from each home's latest energy certificate.

What you get

  • Every home matched to its latest certificate, by UPRN (or address and postcode)
  • How many already reach C, which reach it within the cap, around it or over it, and which can't on their certificate (likely exemptions)
  • The estimated cost: each home's full package and the spend the cap allows, in total
  • What to do first: the cheapest homes to bring to C at the top
  • Homes with no certificate, or one over 10 years old
  • Homes that have moved up a band since you uploaded, as new certificates are lodged
  • The whole list as a spreadsheet (CSV)

How it works

From each home's latest certificate on the government register (98% carry a UPRN). The certificate's potential rating says whether its recommended measures reach C at all; the cost is the sum of the assessor's indicative cost range for each measure, not a quote. Compliance will be judged on the new certificate measures (fabric performance, heating system, smart readiness), so for homes below C this is an estimate of what's needed, not a compliance test. A home with a band C certificate counts as compliant until it expires. If spending the cap doesn't reach the standard, a 10-year exemption can be registered.
